On April 16, 2024, CEDIAM (Center for Industrial and Agricultural Study and Development of Mali) organized the first edition of Festi Mango with a focus on promoting the mango sector and pesticide management. CEDIAM is a private company specializing in the processing of mango into puree and concentrate. Established in 2011, it is one of the leading exporters and industry leaders in the agro-industrial sector in Mali and West Africa. Currently, CEDIAM&rsquo;s activities revolve around processing mangoes sourced from local farmers.

Mali Shi received a US $2.5 million loan from IFC.

This funding was made possible by the IFC&#39;s Initiative for Conflict-Affected States in Africa (CASA), which was implemented in collaboration with Ireland, the Netherlands, and Norway.

This is a private-sector development program in 13 African countries that aims to:

IFC can invest in more risky projects with a high development impact with GAFSP funding. In addition to financing, the IFC also trains members of women-led cooperatives that work with Mali Shi.

Besides the IFC, the World Bank is actively helping shea cooperatives with targeted grants to enable working women:
